MAY DAY CELEBRATION: LAUTECH STAFF ARE UNHAPPY AND ANGRY

May first is yearly marked down for the celebration of the workers all over the world, Nigeria inclusive.

However,  this year May Day to all of us at LAUTECH is a day for total sober and reflection over what the two owners states governments wanted to turn the University to based on their non chanlant attitude towards the institution over the years.
What a disgrace? if an executive Governor can not be trusted to fulfil his freely expressed promises.
Therefore, the Joint Action Committee of SSANU, NAAT AND NASU can no longer be deceived, cajoled and carried away by the cheap propaganda of the two owners states governments.
The question begging for answer is..... Where is the report of the visitation panel and the technical committee on the white paper? Where is the sincerity of purpose from whom we highly respected?
It is a truism that your terms and the times you spent on the position of Governorship in the two states will remain unforgettable for the posterity to judge. History is sacrosanct!
What is even greatly painful is the view of some of the University professors in the Government that are still justify the bad policy of the Government on the University. Surely, your position now will hurt you forever on your return.
Obviously, the two owners states governments had realized the fact that LAUTECH can not be self sufficient without payment of the monthly subventions and that is reason why they are tactically buying times in the name of external auditor.
Consequent upon the failure of the two owners states governments to honour their promises made to the unions before we suspended our eight months strike, the Joint Action Committee of SSANU, NAAT AND NASU is hereby declare three days warning strike with effect from Wednesday,May 3rd, 2017 to Friday,  May 5th,  2017.
Upon resumption on Monday May 8th, 2017, the unions will continue with its series of the means of industrial action to scientifically and spiritually pressing for our legitimate demands until they are all attended to, honour and received.
Conclusively, this year May Day is indeed,  a day for our total reflection yet a celebration day. May God make all our efforts fruitful one now. May God preserve LAUTECH and rescue it from this imminent collapse from the wicked governments.
Happy May Day alot ahead of us.

LAUTECH ALUMNI CONVENTION CAPTURES A VIOLENT FREE ELECTION

By Oyedeji Ahmed ( LMP ) Today's delegate election witnessed a free and fair conduct at the VC lodge. The atmosphere was cool and peaceful. The security men on ground were also caught in total relaxation. The environment was peaceful, no any uproar or hullabaloo as witnessed in the earlier convention. No exchange of blows, punches and throwing of tantrums. The election ended well peacefully. While some of the elected executives went unopposed, some were actually opposed. But at the end the losers and winners were caught in jubilation. The winners however extends their olive branch to their opponents and signal a word of reconciliation to all aggrieved members. The newly elected president, in person of Mr Onilede Solomon, in his impeccable speech, made it clear that LAUTECH Alumni is a united body. He further quipped that upon his assumption to office, he will instantly constitute a committee to unite all members. Furthermore, during his interview with TVC, he urges ever...
