MAY DAY CELEBRATION: LAUTECH STAFF ARE UNHAPPY AND ANGRY

May first is yearly marked down for the celebration of the workers all over the world, Nigeria inclusive.

However,  this year May Day to all of us at LAUTECH is a day for total sober and reflection over what the two owners states governments wanted to turn the University to based on their non chanlant attitude towards the institution over the years.
What a disgrace? if an executive Governor can not be trusted to fulfil his freely expressed promises.
Therefore, the Joint Action Committee of SSANU, NAAT AND NASU can no longer be deceived, cajoled and carried away by the cheap propaganda of the two owners states governments.
The question begging for answer is..... Where is the report of the visitation panel and the technical committee on the white paper? Where is the sincerity of purpose from whom we highly respected?
It is a truism that your terms and the times you spent on the position of Governorship in the two states will remain unforgettable for the posterity to judge. History is sacrosanct!
What is even greatly painful is the view of some of the University professors in the Government that are still justify the bad policy of the Government on the University. Surely, your position now will hurt you forever on your return.
Obviously, the two owners states governments had realized the fact that LAUTECH can not be self sufficient without payment of the monthly subventions and that is reason why they are tactically buying times in the name of external auditor.
Consequent upon the failure of the two owners states governments to honour their promises made to the unions before we suspended our eight months strike, the Joint Action Committee of SSANU, NAAT AND NASU is hereby declare three days warning strike with effect from Wednesday,May 3rd, 2017 to Friday,  May 5th,  2017.
Upon resumption on Monday May 8th, 2017, the unions will continue with its series of the means of industrial action to scientifically and spiritually pressing for our legitimate demands until they are all attended to, honour and received.
Conclusively, this year May Day is indeed,  a day for our total reflection yet a celebration day. May God make all our efforts fruitful one now. May God preserve LAUTECH and rescue it from this imminent collapse from the wicked governments.
Happy May Day alot ahead of us.

JUST IN! ALL FACULTY & DEPARTMENTAL ELECTION SUSPENDED

I t  has just been confirmed from reliable source that all departmental and faculty election will be suspended till further notice. The reason for this is as result of the sad event that took place in some faculties & departments.  The call for suspension becomes imperative to arrest the ongoing situation and to further re-strategize.  In view of the above, a memo will be sent tomorrow from the office of the DSA to affirm this. Meanwhile it's important to know that the university is still mourning the death of her student who died as a result of an unknown ailment. While three students who were involved in an accident are still responding to treatment at Bowen hospital.  At this jucture, LAUTECH students should rethink and shun unnecessary violence in the university as a panacea to prevent more casualties.  Academic excellence is our primary assignment. Let's pray for uninterrupted academic activities.    Source   :  Oyedeji Ahmed ...
