By Oyedeji Ahmed ( LMP )  28th of February, 2018.  The Alumni president, Mr Onilede Solomon has donated an utility bus to the students union to curb security issues. The bus was presented today to the Vice chancellor at the senate building to alleviate the challenge of immobility faced  by the leadership of students union.  While thanking the president, the Vice chancellor began he speech by, "I woke up by my right side. When I woke up, I had to put on a tie that suit my color. While trying to put on the tie, I was directed with a match combination" Today is a beautiful day. I plead with Mr president to make today a big one because I want the council to be here. This is indeed a record, not only for LAUTECH but others to emulate.  Speaking further, "Everyone present here today are alumni of this university. But for some one to make a promise and fulfill it within a month is laudable. As such, he deserve a commendation and applaud"  Whether you are a Muslim or Christ

LAUTECH health centre on indefinite strike, may resume when adequate security is provided.

By Oyedeji Ahmed ( LMP )  The workers of health centre went on indefinite strike as a result of the ugly incident that occurred last week Monday. Some group of students out of frustration and emotional trauma mobilized themselves to show their grievances for the lost of a comrade, Ahmed olumo, who died at Bowen hospital due to an unknown ailment.  The bully-off occurred in the morning at health Centre and led to the closure of the Centre. During the protest, the DSA along the head of the unions addressed the students and pacified them.  The workers were not only embarrassed, threatened especially when they saw cane with some set of students but felt unsaved. While the students in their understanding are saying that their unprofessionalism had caused the death of the brave comrade either by referring him to Bowen hospital or administering the usual drugs and injection; paracetamol & one other.  Without being unfair, what's the offense of the workers ? Can they give what they don

JUST IN! ALL FACULTY & DEPARTMENTAL ELECTION SUSPENDED

I t  has just been confirmed from reliable source that all departmental and faculty election will be suspended till further notice. The reason for this is as result of the sad event that took place in some faculties & departments.  The call for suspension becomes imperative to arrest the ongoing situation and to further re-strategize.  In view of the above, a memo will be sent tomorrow from the office of the DSA to affirm this. Meanwhile it's important to know that the university is still mourning the death of her student who died as a result of an unknown ailment. While three students who were involved in an accident are still responding to treatment at Bowen hospital.  At this jucture, LAUTECH students should rethink and shun unnecessary violence in the university as a panacea to prevent more casualties.  Academic excellence is our primary assignment. Let's pray for uninterrupted academic activities.    Source   :  Oyedeji Ahmed                            ( LMP )
