LAGELU FM : UPDATES ON LAUTECH DISCUSSIONS

No doubt, media is the only language Nigeria governments understand, and we are happy to be engaging them intellectually.
What you saw, heard or witnessed at LAGELU FM today is nothing but a preamble as we set to take the real film to other radio and television stations both in Oyo and osun states.
As a matter of fact; we shall be live on air tomorrow too, on *IMAPCT BUSINESS radio* FM( 92.5 ) by 9: 10 am. The reason for this is not only to make our voice heard but to gain public sympathy and for quick intervention.
In the same vein; we will be live on air too, in Osun state radio station and most likely on TV station. And until our voice are heard, and actions are taken, we would ever keep mute. Why ? Because this citadel learning means a lot to us and we shall never allow it to be grounded by any governments.
We are happy to have the Oyo state commissioner for education live on air today and also glad for the call been put through to the JAC CHAIRMAN. The exchange of words between these two men and the reactions from both angles will not only rekindle our hope but go a long way in solving the issue at hands.
The following is an excerpt from the discussions ;
But for the sake of those who did not listen to the program due to one or two reasons, the top on discussions are as follows;
Audit of LAUTECH account :
The Oyo state commissioner for works said that external auditors would be sent to LAUTECH in couple of weeks and their report should be out within 12 weeks. He said they would be able to find out the amount of money coming in, expenditure, and what the school needs.
And while repeating in a louder voice that none should sabotage Governments' effort, he further quipped that management of lautech don't want those auditors to come in due to the fact that they have a skeleton in their cupboard or could be the reason why some of the Union want to embark on a 3 days warning strike.
But in a counter motion, the JAC chairman on line also reacted; in response to what the commissioner said by saying that Lautech management have  been trying for running the school for 22 months without any financial assistance from the so called governments.
He further condemned the wrong statement of the commissioner who said those embarking on a warning strike is a way not to allow the external auditor to audit the school account without payment of salaries.
So, being the show of the whole dramas, one may begin to wonder why government is laying emphasis on the audit of the school account and why the commissioner for education, in person of professor Olowo fela, keep saying that we should carry the slogan of " YIO LE kOKO LO TE YI, YIO LE KOKO LOTE YI", to osun state too. I just hope some one can shed light on this !
Anyway, don't forget to tune to impact FM ( 92.5 ) tomorrow by 9am to listen to another version.
We shall be there :

JUST IN! ALL FACULTY & DEPARTMENTAL ELECTION SUSPENDED

  I t  has just been confirmed from reliable source that all departmental and faculty election will be suspended till further notice. The reason for this is as result of the sad event that took place in some faculties & departments.  The call for suspension becomes imperative to arrest the ongoing situation and to further re-strategize.  In view of the above, a memo will be sent tomorrow from the office of the DSA to affirm this. Meanwhile it's important to know that the university is still mourning the death of her student who died as a result of an unknown ailment. While three students who were involved in an accident are still responding to treatment at Bowen hospital.  At this jucture, LAUTECH students should rethink and shun unnecessary violence in the university as a panacea to prevent more casualties.  Academic excellence is our primary assignment. Let's pray for uninterrupted academic activities.    Source   :  Oyedeji Ahmed ...
