BEING THE SUMMARY OF THE MEETING OF FRESHER WITH THE SPEAKER AND CONCERNED STAKEHOLDERS OF THE LAUTECH STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT .

  Dear Cohorts,
I write to notify you about the latest information of happenings around the school especially with the hike in tuition of 2016/2017 fresher in which I am also concerned.
On Friday 9th November, 2017 at exactly 11am we all gathered to the sub due to an epistle released about the hike in tuition fee by some concerned Freshers.Through this, we were notified to all gather at the Student Union Building for proper negotiation.
Discuss in the meeting are the Following :
A concerned fresher raised an opinion that we ought not to be affected by the increment of the tuition fee as our fellow 2016 Jambite are in 200level or in a verge of 200level. He furthered that the admission letter we printed as at October 15, 2016 when the school released her first batch. In the letter is 65,000 Naira for Indigines and 73,000 Naira for non-Indigines. He said the letter was attested to by the school Registrar's signature. So he asked the union why do the school wish to breach the agreement. And he said we all fresher know legal procedure that with our admission letter, to arraign LAUTECH to court of law will not be difficult as we have an incontrovertible evidence.
The guy continued by summarizing how he was given admission into Medical Laboratory Science at Kwara State University last year and how he was unable to pay one hundred thousand Naira. So why do LAUTECH wish to betray fresher trust after they have failed us in all ramifications and they cause alot to our journey.
In the same vein, many opinions were made known by alot more freshers and at the end of the meeting, the speaker felt sympathetic and told us that they are going to elect representatives among those concerned so that whenever they want to meet the school authority, they will call these representatives to be there. He also promised us that the school will surely extend the payment date therefore it will not close again on November 30 and that they will inform the school about our stance on reducing the tuition fee and if at all the school cannot reduce they will discuss allowing us to pay the tuition at instalments.

Alumni president donates utility bus to SUG

By Oyedeji Ahmed ( LMP )  28th of February, 2018.  The Alumni president, Mr Onilede Solomon has donated an utility bus to the students union to curb security issues. The bus was presented today to the Vice chancellor at the senate building to alleviate the challenge of immobility faced  by the leadership of students union.  While thanking the president, the Vice chancellor began he speech by, "I woke up by my right side. When I woke up, I had to put on a tie that suit my color. While trying to put on the tie, I was directed with a match combination" Today is a beautiful day. I plead with Mr president to make today a big one because I want the council to be here. This is indeed a record, not only for LAUTECH but others to emulate.  Speaking further, "Everyone present here today are alumni of this university. But for some one to make a promise and fulfill it within a month is laudable. As such, he deserve a commendation and applaud"  Whether you are a Muslim or Christ
