TRADING QUALITY FOR QUANTITY;OYO STATE AS A CASE STUDY.

By:Oparinde Gideon (Mr.Opa)

It is no more news that a technical university has been established and will kick-start soon here in Oyo state sitting at Ibadan the state capital. It was however stated that about 90 percent of the institution's revenue is sought from various investors of education in the country while the remaining 10 percent will be from Oyo state purse.

This same Oyo state(Ajimobi led administration) has performed woefully in running of all tertiary institutions in the state most especially our dear LAUTECH,an institution jointlyly owned by Oyo state and her sister state,Osun(led by Aregbesola). It was worth to note that these two tyrant who happens to be loyal subjects of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu never erect not even a single structure in LAUTECH and can’t even pay common staff salaries. Are they worthy enough to be called leaders?

Few years back, two campus of The Polytechnic,Ibadan was declared autonomous. These institutions survive mainly on Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) and high tuition fee being paid by students, upon this, another technical university has surfaced. My question goes thus;why can't Oyo state government invite all these investors over to other already owned institutions in the state and make them stand the test of time? To me,having another institution when the present ones are not stable enough is nothing but total waste of resources.

No wonder not even one institution in the country made it to the top 1000 university in the world.

No wonder the country is not moving forward.

No wonder our institutions produce half backed graduates.

It is obvious that our leaders TRADE QUALITY FOR QUANTITY even though they promised us qualitative education.

Remind then! Say it loud! Let them hear!

#Quality education is our right!

#We made you constituted authorities!

#Save our future!

Yours in nation building,

Oparinde Gideon A (Mr.Opa)

By Oyedeji Ahmed ( LMP ) Today's delegate election witnessed a free and fair conduct at the VC lodge. The atmosphere was cool and peaceful. The security men on ground were also caught in total relaxation. The environment was peaceful, no any uproar or hullabaloo as witnessed in the earlier convention. No exchange of blows, punches and throwing of tantrums. The election ended well peacefully. While some of the elected executives went unopposed, some were actually opposed. But at the end the losers and winners were caught in jubilation. The winners however extends their olive branch to their opponents and signal a word of reconciliation to all aggrieved members. The newly elected president, in person of Mr Onilede Solomon, in his impeccable speech, made it clear that LAUTECH Alumni is a united body. He further quipped that upon his assumption to office, he will instantly constitute a committee to unite all members. Furthermore, during his interview with TVC, he urges ever...

JUST IN! ALL FACULTY & DEPARTMENTAL ELECTION SUSPENDED

I t  has just been confirmed from reliable source that all departmental and faculty election will be suspended till further notice. The reason for this is as result of the sad event that took place in some faculties & departments.  The call for suspension becomes imperative to arrest the ongoing situation and to further re-strategize.  In view of the above, a memo will be sent tomorrow from the office of the DSA to affirm this. Meanwhile it's important to know that the university is still mourning the death of her student who died as a result of an unknown ailment. While three students who were involved in an accident are still responding to treatment at Bowen hospital.  At this jucture, LAUTECH students should rethink and shun unnecessary violence in the university as a panacea to prevent more casualties.  Academic excellence is our primary assignment. Let's pray for uninterrupted academic activities.    Source   :  Oyedeji Ahmed ...
